Privacy Policy

Overview

This privacy policy documents how your data is collected, stored, handled, and shared when you visit my website. I've tried to make it as easy to read and understand as possible (and a little bit entertaining).

Kinds of data I collect

On my fan-art pages, I use analytics and localStorage to collect the view count. This is non-personal information - it includes 2 numbers; a total view count and unique view count, which increase each time there's a new view or unique view. These don't collect any personal information from anyone. As of right now this site doesn't collect information.

How I collect data

On some webpages (eg fan-art pages), I use self-hosted and privacy preserving analytics. This can be used to display the total view count. You might also share information with me (and possibly everyone on the internet) if you interact with me on social media.

Sharing data

Information about the page you're on and the page title (in a titlebar tree, duhn duhn) might be shared to third-party social networks such as iMessage, ex-Wifey-thingTwitter, or Reddit when you use the "Share" feature.

"Do you sell users' data?"

No - I don't ever sell users' information or use ads or trackers. I also try to use self-inplemented systems, so data will only be shared if I have a system that I don't have the tools, knowledge, or motivation to create myself.

"Do you use cookies?"

Technically speaking, I don't use cookies on this website. On my fan-art pages, I use the localStorage API to detect whether the visit is unique, which is used for the view counter. Cookies are sent to the server with each request, where as localStorage is all client-side and data has to be manually added to a request. Since the entire view count system runs on JavaScript, older browsers may not be able to count or display views, and in modern browsers you can deny JavaScript and JIT access to prevent this system from running. **But since most people probably won't give a mushroom about this technical blabomojabber I put here,** (I might have a servey later to see if that's true) since its still a piece of information being stored on your computer, by that definition it could be considered. (Under the definition "a delicious snack which you can eat", it however cannot be considered a cookie.)

Children

I don't collect personal information from children under 16 on this site. (I also don't collect private data from children, teenagers, and adults under 3,51210). The analytics/view counter on my fan-art pages are completely anonymous, so nobody will know that you are secretly looking at Sonic fan-art on my website. (Except your ISP and everyone who looks at your browsing history o_O)

Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may change at any time. I'm usually responsible for changes made to this privacy policy, but if it changes due to the Paradox Prism being split into 5 pieces, there's a 99.999999999999% chance that I didn't make that change.
